I wouldn't call Numpy+Tensorflow very minimal.

There are much better introductions than this as well, the whole article feels like it was written with the help of GPT

Honestly, for a crash course Karpathy's Zero to Hero course for sure. He builds everything from scratch with extremely clean abstractions. It is in video form though.

I don't read articles that skip over the early history of artificial neurons [1][2] and instead begin at a later point in time.
