Can't escape the feeling that it's done to push people against gas stoves to also enable removing of gas heating to replace it with heat pumps (if gas distribution is still necessary for stoves, removing just heating keeping the stoves carries a huge opportunity cost).

Noble goal in principle, but as usual, done through dirty scaremongering tactic. Far right is going to ride on it, you'll see.

You are probably right, but on the other hand even if I have a functional gas stove and I pay for gas every month because it is not metered individually in the apartment building where I live, I have stopped using the gas stove many years ago, without any external push in this direction.

I eat only food that I cook myself, from raw ingredients, but I have reached the conclusion that I can cook anything better, faster and more reproducibly in a microwave oven than with the gas stove and oven. I even bake my bread in the microwave oven. I have discovered this after a few decades of using a microwave oven only for reheating, without attempting to actually cook with it.

This has the additional advantage that it reduces the ventilation requirements for my kitchen and, supposing that what the parent article says is true, at least partially, this eliminates any pollutants.
