Of course they can get him back. If you've looked on Twitter at the account of the president of El Salvador, the guy is a lickspittle fanboy of Trump and Musk and is absolutely desperate to have their attention. If they tell him to jump he'll ask how high and thank them for the command.

I mean, he's running a slave prison for human trafficking victims charged with no crime and given no process, surrounded by such pathetic theatre it is banana republic levels of farce, so ultimately he should be captured by the ICC, and it will likely end up there.

What the government means is that they don't want to get him back.
