Tech Stack: Frontend: Typescript, React, Next.js, Backend: Python, Postgres, Pinecone, RedisWe’re seeking our first engineering hire (full-stack) at ModernVivo (https://www.modernvivo.com). We’re building literature review and study design tooling for life sciences researchers in the in vivo space. Our core software elucidates study design insights from scientific documents to reduce inefficient animal use, accelerate preclinical development timelines, and improve the probabilities of success for drug discovery.
Only hard requirements are proficiency in TypeScript/React and Python. Strong preference for proficiency in Django, experience with UI/UX design, and for candidates to be based in Seattle (although we are remote-friendly). We’re generally not looking for new graduates except for those with exceptional experience.
Please reach out to colin@modernvivo.com with either your resume or the resume/introduction for a candidate you can vouch for!
Gridmatic uses ML and weather data to forecast energy prices in the US, which can get really volatile as extreme weather becomes more common with climate change. We’ve been using those price forecasts to e.g. optimize very large batteries, which help make the grid more stable.
On the fullstack side, we're building tools to apply our forecasts to automated battery storage optimization and energy volatility risk mitigation. On the ML infra side, we're working on infra to be able to scale to larger and more complex models, and to apply better (but more computationally intensive) weather models in our forecasting.
Our stack: python, react/nextjs, kubernetes, GCP, postgres, bigquery
Our goal is to help accelerate the adoption of renewable energy on the grid. It's super interesting, the team is incredibly smart, and we're profitable.
If you're interested, DM me or email me at kevin@gridmatic.com, and please answer the following question: what's the most impressive thing you've built? (include a link to code if possible)

Iterum is a seed-stage startup revolutionising appliance management for scaled residential properties. Our platform, Iterum IQ, is addressing a critical but overlooked challenge in property management: the inefficient handling of home appliances and consequential lack of actionable data. These things together lead to significant costs, wasted time, and increased carbon emissions. Our mission is to streamline appliance procurement and management, delivering substantial cost savings for property operators and investors, enhancing resident experiences, and reducing carbon footprints at scale.
We’re looking for a talented and ambitious mid level (at least 3-5 years experience) full stack developer to join as our Engineering Lead. You’d work with me - the (fractional) CTO - as well as the (full time) Head of Product and the rest of the team to get Iterum IQ from MVP to scale.
Our tech stack is Django with SSR, PostgreSQL, Bootstrap, HTMX, and a couple of other tools and services. You should be familiar with Django and strong on the backend side, at least competent on the (web) frontend side and with (cloud, at this point) infrastructure management. We’re a small team, so you’d work on pretty much everything.
You’d need to already be based in or near London. The job is onsite, though hybrid is fine.

We do what we can to ensure our process is swift and respectful of your time.
We are working with a consortium of public broadcasters around the world to create a publicly-owned public-interest online space. This project has a lot of momentum behind it, particularly as recent political changes in the US are getting countries interested in the idea of digital sovereignty.
We have lots of people wanting to get involved in the project, and so we plan to open the project up to anyone to contribute, whether they be public media, private media, institutions, universities, or enthusiasts. To make that work well, we want to hire an open source engineer who can manage contributions, create training materials, do refactoring, manage forums, and do all the other things necessary to nurture a healthy open source community.
Particularly interested in people with experience maintaining Open Source projects and working with outside contributors.
If we think you could be a good match, then we'll reach out to you.
