Ask HN: Who is hiring? (April 2025)

Please state the location and include REMOTE for remote work, REMOTE (US) or similar if the country is restricted, and ONSITE when remote work is not an option.

Please only post if you personally are part of the hiring company—no recruiting firms or job boards. One post per company. If it isn't a household name, explain what your company does.

Please only post if you are actively filling a position and are committed to responding to applicants.

Commenters: please don't reply to job posts to complain about something. It's off topic here.

Readers: please only email if you are personally interested in the job.

Searchers: try http://nchelluri.github.io/hnjobs/, https://hnresumetojobs.com, https://hnhired.fly.dev, https://kennytilton.github.io/whoishiring/, https://hnjobs.emilburzo.com, or this (unofficial) Chrome extension: https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/hn-hiring-pro/mpfal....

onton.com | Senior / Staff Software Engineers, Staff Research Engineers | SF | Hybrid

Join us in pioneering the future of e-commerce search. 1M+ MAU growing rapidly. $10M+ raised from top-tier VCs and individuals with backgrounds from Google, Amazon, OpenAI, Stitch Fix, Whatnot, Stripe, and more.

We're a hard-working team of 6. We have a new office in Jackson Square with a great view that we're looking to fill with other high-performance people!

Tech-wise, it's primarily Clojure, if that's interesting (no worries if you haven't used it). We've also built our own graph db to cope with the scale, and the foundations of a neuro-symbolic AI agent that learns more about the world on every search.

Job posting and more information here → https://careers.onton.com

We read and respond to every application.

legacy-use.com | Co-Founder | Munich, Germany | Remote possible | Full-Time |

Most legacy software has no API and cannot be automated with Agentic AI. At our company builder (schub.tech) we had the same problem in one of our ventures and build ourselves a solution: based on computer-use, we can insert & extract information out of any software.

We believe this toolstack is useful to many others, hence we spin it out as a company. We are looking for co-founders to join us on the journey to open up backbone of German Mittelstand to AI automation.

See here my post announcing the role: https://www.linkedin.com/posts/schuon_co-founders-wanted-for...? Apply via join@schub.tech

Cheers, Sebastian (Founder of Schub)

Elicit | San Francisco + remote (US timezones) | https://elicit.com/careers

Elicit is an AI research assistant that uses language models to help researchers figure out what’s true and make better decisions. We scaled to >$5MM annual revenue and 450k MAU fast. We're hiring for multiple roles and are primarily interested in people with early-stage company experience, who are comfortable in high-agency, fast-paced teams.

Reasons you might want to join Elicit:

1. We have been thinking about how to apply AI for high-stakes knowledge work since even before GPT-1. Elicit was spun-out from Ought (https://ought.org/) which was an applied research lab.

2. If you're concerned about the potential downsides and risks of super-powerful AI: so are we! Happy to explain more of this story on a call, or you can also check e.g. https://ought.org/updates/2022-04-06-process for a primer.

3. We like spending time with each other, and have get-togethers every 6 weeks, but we're flexible on location.

Reasons you might not want to join Elicit:

1. We've found a level of product market fit (as evidenced by metrics) but we've not proven everything out yet. If you want predictability, Elicit is not for you.

2. We aim to hire people who thrive in low-bureaucracy environments, and let them loose. If you need structure, lots of support, close mentorship, or tightly-defined work assignments, Elicit is not for you.

A selection of open roles—more on the site:

I'm looking for a developer to join our venture.

About Us: - We operate in the GTM Marketing and Sales space - We're an AI-first company where artificial intelligence is deeply embedded into our systems - We replace traditional business logic with predictive power to deliver flexible, amazing products

Who You Are:

Technical Chops: - Full stack dev with expertise in: - AI agents and workflow orchestration - Advanced workflow systems (trigger.dev, temporal.io) - Relational database architecture & vector DB implementation - Web scraping mastery (both with and without LLM extraction) - Message sequencing across LinkedIn & email

Mindset: - You breathe, eat, and drink AI in your daily life - You're the type who stays up until 3 AM because "Holy shit there's a new SOTA model release I HAVE to try this out" - You actively use productivity multipliers like cursor, roo, and v0 - You're a problem-solving machine who "figures it out" no matter what obstacles appear

Philosophy: - The game has completely changed and we're all apprentices in this new world. No matter how experienced you are, you recognize that some 15-year-old kid without the baggage of "best practices" could be vibecoding your entire project right now. Their lack of constraints lets them discover solutions you'd never imagine. You have the wisdom to spot brilliance where others see only inexperience.

- Forget "thinking outside the box" or "thinking big" - that's kindergarten stuff now. You've graduated to "thinking infinite" because you command an army of AI assistants ready to execute your vision.

- You've mastered the art of learning how to learn, so diving into some half-documented framework that launched last month doesn't scare you one bit - you've conquered that mountain before.

- Your entrepreneurial spirit and business instincts are sharp (or you're hungry to develop them).

- Experimentation isn't just something you do - it's hardwired into your DNA. You don't question the status quo because it's cool; you do it because THERE IS NOT OTHER WAY.

What You're Actually After: - You're not chasing some cushy tech job with monthly massages or free kombucha on tap. You want to code because that's what you love, and you expect to make a shitload of money while doing what you're passionate about.

If this sounds like you, let's talk. Pablo@revenueformula.io
