This is the hypocrisy of the left and why people are leaving blue states and in the process are losing electoral votes for President and representatives in the House. These people have jobs and the “liberal” states don’t do nearly enough to enable affordable housing.

This is coming from someone who believes in universal health care, (de)regulation to make affordable housing available, affordable post high school education, increasing the minimum wage, etc.

But as someone who travels extensively and has been all over the US, there is no blue state I would want to live in. High taxes, high cost of living and spend more time virtue signaling than trying to solve problems that people care about.

The best I’ve found is blue metropolitan areas in red (and purple) states.

That remark about blue states is pretty meaningless. Red states do much worse.

You could simplify the whole post by to express that any state or political party in the US is abhorrent to the citizens.

The only significant or interesting thing might be why certain focus areas actually provide a little bit for citizens.

I get really tired of hearing that blue states have higher taxes.

For the median income earner, that's not true: https://fortune.com/2023/03/23/states-with-lowest-highest-ta...

Look at the cost of living rankings.

Notice that the 12 bottom states are all blue states?

And tax burden rankings

Notice the top 10 states on your cost of living list are also some of the poorest states.

And yet none of them are having to pass laws allowing someone who is working to live in their car.

If you were a teacher, policemen, social worker, healthcare worker or even working in fast food, where would you be better off at?

And states with the highest homeless population per capita
