I am a seasoned C++ developer with 23 years of experience in the industry. I have experience in Desktop, Embedded and Mobile development. I also did some back-end work and even some reverse engineering, though that was a while ago. I also have some ML experience (PyTorch) - also a while ago, but not that much. Most recently I've doing 3D graphics (simulation and later maps). My Linear Algebra is quite decent - I use it regularly.

My preferred next career move is independent contracting. 6-12 months contracts ideally. I will also consider permanent fully remote positions, but only quite senior ones - Staff Engineer / Architect level.

I've been fully remote since 2018 and I intend to keep it that way.

I'm a UX/Product Designer with a strong foundation in user research and interaction design. I recently graduated in the Netherlands and completed internships at B2B SaaS companies, where I worked on things like VoIP configuration flows — I had no background in that before, but I learned fast and made it usable for both technical and non-technical users.

I’m looking for freelance or junior design work where I can contribute to product thinking and improve my skills through real-world projects. I’ve worked in Agile Scrum environment. I enjoy learning new things, making complex systems easier to use, and turning insights into clear design decisions.

Engineering leader with 18 years building and scaling systems. I've taken teams from chaos to shipping, whether that's modernizing decade-old monoliths at $50M companies or architecting greenfield platforms from scratch.

Recent wins: Cut reactive work by 80% in 6 months, reduced delivery time from 2 months to 2 weeks, and transformed backend teams into full-stack contributors. I love the messy intersection of legacy systems, growing teams, and business constraints.

What I'm good at: Making hard technical problems tractable, then executing on them. I thrive at diagnosing complex distributed systems issues and designing migration strategies that keep the business running smoothly. Equal parts hands-on engineer and team builder.

Looking for teams solving meaningful problems where both technical depth and business impact matter.

Technologies: I'm David, a Rails dev and engineering leader, with 10+ years shipping Rails apps to production and leading teams doing the same. I started in Rails back in Rails 2 and have been in the Rails world ever since. I'm known in the Rails world for my writing (including a book) on the Hotwire stack.

I've led product and engineering at bootstrapped SaaS companies as part of product orgs ranging in size from just me to > 100, and I've directly managed teams of 18 while still keeping my hands close to the code, and close to the product roadmap.

I do some consulting with early stage founders, writing code, hiring and coaching teams, and helping get new products to market. I would love to shift back out of consulting and into my next full time role, preferably somewhere where I can wear both an engineering and a product hat, with the chance to make a big impact.

Résumé/CV: You can learn a bit more about me and read some of my technical writing here: https://www.colby.so/writing. Shoot me an email and I'm happy to share my full background.

Need a consultant, strategic thinking, architecture or tech advice, coaching/ mentoring for you or your team?

How could we work together? An hour, a couple of hours or something more regular but flexible/fractional? I am looking for part hours, or retainers, or work toward fully moving into a consulting / advisory capacity

Let’s figure out how to work together.

I have 20+ years solving business problems and maximising opportunities through technology in a variety of industries internationally.

My core skills are in strategy, enterprise architecture, technology architecture, consulting and advice, agile, team leadership, coaching and mentoring. Can do operating model work.

I am currently a Principal Architect. I operate at both the enterprise strategy and solutions level with many years in architecture and technology in the private and public sector. I know how to use enterprise architecture frameworks, practices and principles from concept stage to delivery in order to execute on strategy and how to work with product and development teams to set direction and manage product evolution.

I have a PhD in electrical engineering. I'm a builder, tinkerer, cheerleader, and teacher at heart. I've lead teams and managed contractors. I developed threat models, assessment processes, reverse-engineering practices, handling procedures, and reporting structures. I've created prototypes and product proposals. I've designed PCBs, laid them out in Altium, and assembled them. I've worked with SDRs and GNURadio, various FPGAs, PLCs, microcontrollers, and lots of other hardware (vacuum tubes are a hobby). I'm cognizant of anti-tamper and trust assurance techniques (I've even broken a few!), various side-channel analyses, fault injection, cyber-physical system exploits, and LLMs (I broke a couple of those, too).

Location: Edmonton, Canada Remote: Yes Willing to Relocate: Yes, within Canada Technologies: C++, Rust, Kafka, TypeScript, Express.js, C#, React, Postgres, KDB+ Résumé/CV: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Wqc3C_7bAOXQ3DTIQXJHuWypl6d... Email: mituldhawan154@gmail.com

I'm someone who enjoys building fast, reliable systems and solving complex technical problems. Over the past year, I've worked on everything from ultra-low-latency trading engines in C++ and Rust to building a high-performance CPU emulator from the ground up. I’ve had the chance to work with lead backend developers at startups, optimize systems for scale. I’m comfortable working across the stack, whether that’s building APIs with Express.js and TypeScript or diving deep into Kafka pipelines and distributed architectures. I care about writing clean, maintainable code, and I’m always up for learning something new or tackling tough challenges with a team.

Resume/CV: 20+ years engineering, 8+ of those in management roles. Contact for resume.
   Email: matt.schouten@gmail.com
I’m a full-stack developer with a preference for backend. Over the past 20+ years, I’ve worked in everything from avionics to WordPress to heavy GIS data processing. I love solving complex problems (make them as simple as possible, but no simpler), designing for scalability and sustainability, and mentoring engineers.

I’m a builder and coach at heart, and will happily build software, do product development, architect systems, or step into a leadership / management role. That said, you don’t want me to be your interface designer, but I can implement someone else’s design just fine.

It seems I do my best work as a strong #2, supporting a leader that values ideas and feedback, whether in a management or IC role. (Working Geniuses: invention and enablement. Working Frustrations: galvanizing and tenacity)
