Want to work for a software company actively working to help our fellow citizens instead of harm them? Want to work directly with state governments to get people home sooner?

Recidiviz is hiring.

This is pretty offensive. Is the purpose cruelty or provocation?

Cruelty. The motivating force of the modern Republican party is identify the "other" and then hurt them.

It's also to add more bad noise to try to distract from the major damage they're doing. They've specifically outlined this. Overwhelm the "enemy" - in this case non-MAGA - with bad stuff so they can't focus on anything.

Cruelty. It's always the cruelty.

It's just plain money-grubbing.

fining people a fine that can afford while still impacting their lifestyle negativity enough that they actually notice, without forcing them to go hungry or homeless.

Another squeeze on the budgets of the American family to further enrich the already wealthy. They just can't stop making life in the US more and more expensive for the average person. Conveniently incarceration rates are going up so there will be more Americans behind bars.

This is sad. Hopefully that there is a cap at all still improves matters compared to the situation before the limits existed.
