Hi, I'm Harry Altman! I was the maintainer of Truffle Debugger (https://github.com/trufflesuite/truffle/tree/develop/package...), a Solidity smart contract debugger, for 5 years. I eventually ended up writing my own decoding and encoding libraries to support it, as well as a bunch of other things.

I'm good at this sort of nitpicky work, spotting and thinking about edge cases. I like getting things exactly right, even though that obviously isn't always possible due to various constraints. I've been kind of wondering if I should get into embedded development; I find it appealing when things are low-level or similarly constrained. I've beaten Microcorruption. :) (The original levels, I haven't played the new ones.)

I'm also quite interested in unusual or obscure data formats, and working on Truffle Debugger and its associated libraries certainly involved a bunch of having to figure undocumented formats and interfaces. :) I put down above what languages I've worked substantially in but I'd say I'm a generalist and will figure out whatever you give me (I knew approximately no Javascript, Typescript, or Solidity when I started working at Consensys).

I'm a mathematician by background and in my spare time, so after the Truffle Debugger project was shut down I took some time off to focus on my mathematical projects. But now I'm looking for work again! If you need someone like me, I'm available for hire!

Hello. I am a Senior backend engineer with 10+ years building Django-based systems and data pipelines.

Most recently, I designed and implemented an LLM-assisted data pipeline that converted security bulletins into actionable intelligence for an enterprise cyber security product.

I enjoy working with Django, previously migrated live auth systems with zero downtime and took SaaS products from prototype to production.

I have founded a startup and grown the business from zero to profitable exit.

I'm seeking a senior backend, data engineering, of founding engineer role at a stable, product-focused company. I'm strong in API design, data modeling, and production AI integrations.

Please reach out if you would like to chat. I look forward to meeting with you.

After years of building, scaling, and leading engineering efforts across backend systems, I’m exploring new opportunities where architecture, distributed systems, and technical leadership meet.

My focus areas include:

System Architecture & Design: Crafting resilient, observable, and maintainable systems that scale.

Distributed Systems: Designing and evolving services that thrive under load and handle failure gracefully.

Technical Leadership: Driving clarity in complex systems, mentoring engineers, and shaping high-impact engineering culture.

Scalability & Performance: Deeply understanding system bottlenecks and making software fast, reliable, and cost-efficient.

I’ve led engineering efforts spanning from core platform design to large-scale service deployments, with an emphasis on clarity, reliability, and developer experience.

I’m looking for roles such as:

Principal / Staff Engineer

Architect – Platform or Distributed Systems

Engineering Lead

Lately, I’ve been exploring graph-based knowledge representations as a method for information compression and long-term memory permanence in AI systems — developing pipelines that integrate LLMs with structured memory to retain and generalize knowledge efficiently.

My background bridges applied machine learning and software engineering, from building text-to-speech systems and semantic retrieval tools to experimenting with persistent, graph-oriented architectures for reasoning and recall. I’m looking for opportunities at the intersection of AI systems engineering, knowledge representation, and scalable memory architectures.
