Not a PR person myself, but why use as an example a parody topic for a paper? Couldn't someone have invented something realistic to show? Or, heck, just get permission to show a real paper?

The example just reinforces the whole concept of LLM slop overwhelming preprint archives. I found it off-putting.

Dog turd, will be used to mine research data and train some sort of research AI model, do not trust. I would much rather support Overleaf which is made by academics for academics than some vibe coded alternative with deep data mining. No wonder we have so much slop in research at the moment

No Typst support?

> Turn whiteboard equations or diagrams directly into LaTeX, saving hours of time manipulating graphics pixel-by-pixel

What a bizarre thing to say! I'm guessing it's slop. Makes it hard to trust anything the article claims.

LaTeX was one of the last bastions against AI slop. Sadly it's now fallen too. Is there any standardised non-AI disclaimer format which is gaining use?

Way too much work having AI generate slop which gets dumped on a human reviewer to deal with. Maybe switch some of that effort into making better review tools.

wow, this is useless!

"Accelerating science writing and collaboration with AI"

Uhm ... no.

I think we need to put an end to AI as it is currently used (not all of it but most of it).

drusepth 1/27/2026||
Does "as it is currently used" include what this apparently is (brainstorming, initial research, collaboration, text formatting, sharing ideas, etc)?
Jaxan 1/27/2026||
Yeah, there are already way more papers being published than we can reasonably read. Collaboration, ok, but we don’t need more writing.

It seems people dont understand the basics...

We dont need more stuff - we need more quality and less of the shit stuff.

Im convinced many involved in the production of LLM models are far too deep in the rabbit hole and cant see straight.
