Over ten years at seed-stage startups.

I came up through design, not CS. That shaped how I think about software and the people who use it.

Most recently I was Engineering Manager and Technical Product Owner at Skribble (Switzerland, remote). Setting architecture direction, owning the roadmap, and staying hands-on with the team building the core product.

Before that I was the first Berlin hire at super.AI in 2018, where I built their customer-facing data labeling platform.

On the side I'm building a hardware/software ecosystem around the electric bass: real-time DSP, OpenCV, MCU-driven MIDI interfaces, DevEx.

Senior Laravel Developer, 6 years experience. Available immediately. Before that, built multi-tenant SaaS products, RESTful APIs serving 200k+ users, and integrated 15+ third-party services into enterprise systems. I'm a former academic researcher (in linguistics) turned self-taught software engineer who'd like to transition into professional software development. I'm experienced across the stack using Javascript/TypeScript, Python, and SQL with platforms like Cloudflare and Val Town. I bring a research-driven approach from my Ph.D. in linguistics. I'm especially interested in working on AI tooling and integrations.

I have 5 years professional software development experience with a history of open source contributions. I have experience developing low latency (<500ns) library, kernel bypass networking software (SolarFlare and AF_XDP), processing terabytes of data every day and infrastructure work in Python.

Recently, I have been dabbling with the kernel (interrupts), distributed filesystem (ternfs) and ZSTD (attempting a rewrite in Rust). Plus, I have been meaning to write more non-technical stuff in my blog so that has been consuming me most recently.

Hi, my name is Alec and I build infrastructure and glue systems together. I have completed projects ranging from writing backend application code to building out idempotent infrastructure. I'm looking to branch out into more formal SRE roles as well. If you're worried about the state of your infrastructure, or your developers spend too much time mucking with infrastructure versus feature work, OR if you have no idea what I'm even talking about, then I am certainly going to be a help on your team.
