New Lantern is building an AI radiology resident—think Cursor for radiologists. Our application integrates the three software tools radiologists use all day [1], together with AI, to create a platform that saves radiologists toil and lets them focus on reading images and finding disease.

We are a series A startup with ~15 engineers (~30 total staff), have live customers generating revenue, several years of runway, and are backed by Benchmark, Anthropic, and other great investors.

We currently donate money to food banks and would like to set up end-to-end infrastructure so we could deliver free food to people's homes. Our concept is that AI does all the work (including farming) and gives away free goods and services. Where this runs into problems is the question of who's going to make and distribute food and how people are going to get it. While we haven't figured out all parts of food delivery we'd like to work on the distribution channel. We think it's very important.

What we're looking for is someone who is passionate about owning network infrastructure in people's homes and would like to help run the software stack, since at the moment AI is not talented enough to autonomously run the full infrastructure stack. This is an unpaid volunteer position.

What you would be in charge of is food distribution algorithms, equality, fairness, and the long-term future for humanity.

Strong debugging and problem-solving skills, especially under time pressure.

Preferable:

Experience with machine learning workflows or data processing pipelines. Familiarity with Python/Django backend development. Knowledge of cloud services (AWS) and containerization (Docker). Experience in insurance, fintech, or data-intensive industries.

Society will need trusted digital IDs and credentials. It is a team effort, and people with T-shirt shaped skills are able to collaborate and learn a ton from each other every day.

We are interested in candidates who want to be proud of the meaningful impact they make for society, even if it takes time to get right. This is not the right job for someone who wants to "join a cool new AI startup" that implodes or exits in under a year.
