Hi HN! I'm posting my own backfill, as I'm leaving MassChallenge. It's a hands-on Product/Tech leadership role: you'd own software engineering, data, AI, and IT.
MassChallenge is the Non-profit/no equity version of YC for mission driven companies. Comp is $180k-$200K with strong benefits and good work-life balance.
You'd inherit a great team, some room for headcount growth, and a solid near-term roadmap, with flexibility to shape it once you're in.
I'm not the hiring manager (this is my last week), but I may be involved in the interview process. Mention Hacker News when you apply. Current interview process: HR phone screen, technical screen, Exec team interview, CEO interview.

No, I'm not on some kind of power trip (yet). I just got my fill of automated application spam a long time ago; the tales I could tell. This is my modestly creative attempt to circumvent the AI's. Might be good practice for SkyNet, eh?
We are not looking for a know-it-all. Instead, we desire a "wants to learn it all". We're a small company, but our System Architect / Dev Lead is seriously a unicorn. If he mentors you for a year or two, your career is golden. Back in the day, I secretly believed I was one of the best around. Then I worked with Stephen. I've learned a ton from him, and I'm his boss.
We're a small, agile, creative and laid-back team who work hard but value work-life balance. I take great pains to make it so. If you're smart, work hard, and love writing software, ask a friend or former boss to vouch for you and have them send your resume`.

Bucket Robotics turns CAD files into production-ready computer vision models that detect defects instantly with zero manual labeling and no multi-month pilots. We are automation-first, replacing slow legacy processes with instant AI inspection.
As an early full-stack hire, you will own a massive surface area. You’ll be responsible for building our customer-facing application, scaling our internal tooling, and designing the data pipelines that move CAD and vision data at scale.
This isn't just a "CRUD app" role. You’ll work closely with our core tech and have the opportunity to become a domain expert in radiometry, machine learning, and computer graphics.
What We’re Looking For Product-Minded Engineer: You care deeply about user experience and can independently take a feature from concept to production.

Hi I’m Devin.
Do you love hard problems? Do you find yourself thinking about new ideas on a daily basis? If so, you are the person I’m looking for!
Biz overview: Our phones camera rolls have 10,000+ photos and videos… most aren’t good but some are. Mitty analyzes the content, creates the idea from what exists, and edits the footage → presenting you with a finished video to post on social. Pretty neat huh! Well, that’s the idea. Also, hard to pull off, which is why I need you!
I'm the founder. You will be the first technical hire and own everything technical — pick the stack, make the architecture calls, write the code, and hopefully stay lead engineer for the life of the company. I’m technical but not good enough.
90-day goal: ship v1.
Helpful: ML/AI + video understanding / computer vision; mobile (iOS preferred); video processing/editing pipelines; comfort wiring up LLM + vision APIs (Anthropic, OpenAI, etc.) and can workout without micro mngmt.
What I’m trying to build: category leader in AI video creation around pre existing content (different than opus who is more podcast style), built toward an acquisition or Series B in ~3 years (Adobe, Canva, Meta, Google are the obvious acquirers).
Comp: $150k base (or more depending on skill) + performance bonus + founding-level equity scaled to experience.
Ps. I don’t expect you to be THE Expert at all of this. Just someone who is good to workout with and likes figuring things out.
Role + details: https://mitty.film/careers/first-engineer.html
Apply: email Devin@PineappleHi.com — a note plus anything relevant (resume, GitHub, things you've shipped).

Factory | IT Operations Specialist | ONSITE, SF, CA | Full-Time
My team at Factory's growing. Come work with me to beef up 1) our security stance, and 2) our IT program. We're growing rapidly and I want to get ahead of scaling issues. You'll work directly with me, with agency to define and evolve your own role. Today we need hands-on-keyboard IC work. Want to grow that into a director-level role? This is the time to join.
My short endorsement: I love coming to work every day and building the future along with a lot of the smartest people I've ever met, with a workplace culture that I'm proud to be a part of. You should come help me make it even better.

Quantum Rise is an AI-forward consulting startup serving the mid-market in the US. We see companies in multiple industries struggling to understand how to leverage artificial intelligence in their day-to-day operations, trying to understand what their existing workforce now needs to know, or trying to understand whether they're about to be disrupted and need to change how their existing processes work. Many have business problems which "traditional" machine learning could help with even prior to the current GenAI hype cycle, but for whatever reason hadn't prioritized doing until now. Many have employees looking to incorporate agentic AI safely and effectively across different business areas. We try and help getting a handle around these issues and designing outcome-driven solutions.
Agentic AI Solutions Manager: You'll work directly with clients to benchmark, train and deploy agentic systems for industry-specific problems. We're looking for someone deeply embedded in agentic engineering practice across vendors and platforms. Companies are looking for ways to leverage agentic systems to upskill their practitioners and need help navigating a new, powerful scary world.
AI Solutions Engineer: You're someone who has experience across the entire spectrum of applied automation, machine learning and agentic engineering.
We think of these two roles as complementary -- agentic AI solutioners help clients understand the forefront, whereas pure AI solutioners help them pick the right solution not the one they saw in the news.
Both are front-facing development roles for someone who loves both tech and tackling real business problems. We love people with prior experience in multiple industries.
To apply, send me an email at julian.berman at quantumrise.com, mentioning HN and including your CV.
