There's a war on, and right now it's mostly a war of propaganda.

The bit about it being taken earlier came from an episode of What's Going on With Shipping with Dr. Mercagliano, and frankly I'm not up to finding it.
Setting that specific claim aside nothing ever came of this, and although I despise the current admin I'm disinclined to think that the Navy was lying when they showed what was really being served days later. It comes down to whether or not you buy anonymous pics from a twitter "OSINT" account or not though.
Maybe some politician should tell them they’re just entitled and that they should be thankful to receive anything. Then they can add a quip about their steak and lobster fest.
Works for the non-military population
"An unidentified father, who's also a Navy veteran, reportedly said his son described seeing holes that have worn through the ship's deck."
If true, it's crazy that sailors can tell their families so much. Doesn't speak well of security. I'm reminded of WW2 censors who read letters being mailed to families.
But I don't really know military culture or norms so maybe you're right that this is fine.
So it's been around for at least 2,000 years. I bet that alongside Ea-nāṣir's tablet there are some complaining about the quality of the food in the Akkadian army.
Both of them desperately wanted this war.
The Russian army is also poorly equipped, poorly trained and in chaos...
