Software architect / tech lead with ~10 years building identity, authentication and secure-communications systems for banks and government clients. My focus is scalability: backend systems that hold up under load in regulated environments. I've led stack modernization, migration of legacy products to Kubernetes and cloud, CI/CD, and supply chain security. Earlier career in the space industry (ESA ground segment, EUMETSAT, NASA).Also doing an MSc in cybersecurity, with thesis work on adversarial ML against EDR systems and energy-efficient IoT firmware attestation.
Open to contract work: software architecture and governance, code audit, threat modeling, and CRA/supply chain security for product teams without an in-house security lead.
Remote: Yes, remote only. Happy with European hours and async teams.

Senior backend engineer, ~15 years, mostly Rails. I've done a lot of infra work as well and am pretty familiar with most technologies used for running the web. I am very passionate about creating useful software and have created a lot of side projects - see list at https://mitrev.net/projects. Looking for a product engineering role on a Rails team (also open to other web stacks at remote-first companies).

Senior iOS/macOS engineer, 14 years. I can own the whole product: native app plus a lightweight Supabase or Firebase backend, through App Store release.
- DuetDriver: sole iOS engineer; moved an 8-year-old Obj-C app to SwiftUI without a feature freeze, tests ~60 to 870+
- CoachX: built an AI fitness coaching app from the first commit, sole iOS engineer
- Tempo: health-intelligence core of an AI coach (HealthKit scoring, OpenAI function calling)
- Aide: main macOS engineer on an AI meeting assistant (system audio, on-device transcription, MCP, local search)
- Scopeburn: whole product solo, SwiftUI menu bar app, React web, Supabase backend with realtime sync
- Exported a fine-tuned PyTorch model to Core AI

I'm the fractional ImageRights CTO, looking for a 2nd startup that needs hands-on tech, scale, or AI help.
I have 18 years of experience across 5 companies in taking products from idea to paying customers. I've built ImageRights' web search and image-retrieval database (C++, in service since 2015, finds copyright infringements worldwide), DeutscheKI (100% private German AI and local ASR), and before that the Spatial Audio Designer, used in Hollywood. And a German image distribution start-up.
I have experience with AI research, adaptation, and training. I've built AI RLVR training tasks in the past. Won the 2021 Bomberland mid-season with PPO. I'm also open to northern German on-prem CV/ASR work in case you cannot ship data to any cloud.
Side interests: I built a Pump It Up pad with custom self-developed and self-manufactured sensors. Currently doing CAD design and policy training (with PPO) for a robot.
Recently I've been debugging MSFS2024 inside Proton: https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Proton/issues/8255#issuecom...
Remote: Yes
Willing to relocate: No
Technologies: Python, Django, Postgresql, MS SQL Server, R, Ansible, C (rusty!), JavaScript, Claude Code, PowerBI, Tableau, Linux
Résumé/CV: Technology leader and software builder. Lead a 10+ person team focused on applying data science and AI to modern academic medicine. 20+ years of coding experience, 20+ years database/DBA experience. 10+ of hands-on leadership experience of high-performing teams. Secret superpower: I'm a physician, I've been an academic, I understand what makes healthcare providers tick. Haven't practiced in a very long time.

I'm a polymath with ADHD which means I'm very interested in many diverse subjects and often can connect the dots between otherwise unrelated subjects. I have recently made a fun, toy project called koi.rest, picked up model benchmarking and training for fun (and personal profit), taught my wife to use Linux and LLMs and got her to learn Python.
I like making fun, interesting and novel projects for people, automating stuff and finding solutions to annoying problems.
I build data tools, from the dataframe backend to the browser.
I created and maintain Buckaroo (https://github.com/paddymul/buckaroo), an open source dataframe UI for Jupyter, marimo, and VSCode — summary stats and a histogram over every column, across pandas and polars. 683 stars. Scrolling millions of rows without eating the browser took a segment-merging row cache and parquet decoded client side.
Recently: Tallyman, a data science environment for coding agents. Named computations in a dependency DAG, results rendered live in a browser companion, every step keeping the prompt that made it. Demoed at PyData London 2026.
Before that: Flatfile, Attune, Tudor, and Bokeh/Wakari at Anaconda.
Looking for data infrastructure, developer tools, or agent tooling — where a hard backend problem has to surface as something a person can use.

I am a Lead Infrastructure Engineer with 20+ years of experience.Whether your team is stuck troubleshooting infra issues, needs extra hands on an infra-heavy project or is just lacking tech leadership on the DevOps topics, contact me and we'll figure it out.
I prefer to work along the existing engineering teams, mentoring or training them while working together on the real tasks. This is a very effective and also a flexible way to learn and as a bonus, some work gets done on the way.
The usual topics are various AWS services, Elastic Stack, Linux, wide range of troubleshooting, infrastructure as code, logging & monitoring, managing cloud costs, but I find it rewarding to venture into new areas together with the team.
I am located in EU (Estonia) and work remotely with occasional on-site visits. B2B contract roles only, not considering full time work.
