Used this font for years, even made my own custom build for it because the many many many provided ones were not just quite right for my preference.

These days I'm using Maple Mono though.

Beautiful font! Only problem is people are not writing code by hand anymore.

I don't think LLMs are ever going to take off in the coding space. Even the largest proponents of it have quit due to the exceptionally bad code quality.

The only place it works is dumb boilerplate generation (ie, a smarter replacement for templates), but the real fix for that is just jettisoning languages that beat you to death with boilerplate; its 2026, stop using C++ and Java.

I've extensively tried every LLM model, commercial or not, and for real languages like Rust or Zig, they perform poorly, and for footgun-laden languages like C++ or Java or Python, it just hands you the footgun and helps you aim the thing.

To quote myself and what I just said: "Even the largest proponents of it have quit due to the exceptionally bad code quality."

I am very much paying attention to the current state of LLM acceptance.

I’m still not sure what to think of their capabilities, so I’m curious to see where ambitious vibe-coded projects like Raku++ [1] will go.

Raku++ is *not* vibecoding: see https://dev.to/andrewshitov/comment/3gij4

Depends on how you use the word. I use and understand the term ‘vibecoding’ in a similar way the author of the article you link to does: instructing AI to write code for you. That’s how I normally see the word used and how some English dictionaries define it. [1] [2] [3] By those definitions, Raku++ is vibecoded.

Wikitionary adds the nuance of the prompter not understanding the generated code well. [4] If we go by that definition, Raku++ is not vibecoded. Would you say this definition is more correct? (I only go by what I’ve been hearing and able to find so far, so I might have missed something.)
