Ask HN: What's your current AI agentic setup?

I'm curious how people on HN are using AI day to day, and came up with a list of questions I thought could be interesting to know. No need to answer every question of course, just wanted to get a gut feel how people are using AI.

1) What AI subscriptions are you personally paying for? (Claude, ChatGPT/Codex, Cursor, etc)

- Which tiers?

- Have you purchased multiple subscriptions from the same provider (eg two Claude accounts)?

2) Are you using models outside (or instead) of those subscriptions? For example, pay-as-you-go APIs, OpenRouter, or locally hosted models.

- Which models and providers?

3) What coding harnesses and interfaces are you using? Are you sticking with the default CLIs or IDE integrations, or using alternatives like OpenCode, Pi, Aider, Muse Code, or custom-built harnesses?

- What made you switch harnesses (if you switched)?

4) Are you using any agent orchestration or swarm tools?

- For example, Munder Difflin, Gas Town, Ruflo, or something custom.

5) Are you using broader agent platforms like OpenClaw / Hermes Agent / Grok bot / Dots / Muse?

- If you are using them, what are your main use cases?

-----

I know my workflow has differed significantly from a year ago, and so it would be interesting to capture a snapshot today of what people are using and why.

I use Orca as an “ADE” (mostly for the multi-worktree interface and mobile app).

In my day job I use Claude Code & Codex subscriptions (Codex is mostly for review, second opinion, and as a backup).

Personally I use both oh-my-pi and Hermes with a Codex subscription. I tend to use OMP more now though, since I find its interface a bit nicer when working on the laptop.

Nearly identical setup except I splash some Chinese models in there like DeepSeek v4.1-10-17 and GLM 5.3

as of late i started running out of 5h quota on gpt plus and felt coerced to upgrade to pro. i'm pretty grumpy about it.

I haven't written a single line of code since a full year ago. Using Codex/GPT and Devin

Opencode go ($10), deepseek 4.1 flash high, opencode tui

I went directly with this setup, never tried claude/codex/cursor and their respective models.

1. Claude Ultra

2. No

3. Claude Code

4. My own engineering harness: https://devarch.ai/

5. No

I started using ChatGPT in the beginning then switched to Claude then Claude Code then developed DevArch over that entire time.

After trying so many different setups, now I just use Claude-- the only thing interesting about my setup though is that I separated a "work-claude" and a "personal-claude" install on my laptop, which isn't officially allowed and took a bit of wrangling. But I basically had to do it legally.

Claude Code Ultra in Emacs. Split Emacs windows: Bottom is Claude Code, top left is code, top right is db-backed editable spec (propositions and premises) with Clojure like eval that sends spec to Claude Code.

I pay for Claude Pro ($20/mo)—using Claude Code with Opus 5.5, and Google AI Premium ($20/mo) for Gemini Pro with Gemini 4.

When I write code with one, I use the other for peer review.
