Currently Lead Platform Engineer at a security AI startup where I built the platform team from scratch (0 to 5 engineers) and architected multi-tenant Kubernetes infrastructure across 40+ clusters with per-tenant KMS encryption and Argo-based progressive delivery.
Before that, spent nearly 6 years as Staff SRE at Iterable where most of my work centered on making infrastructure cheaper and more reliable. Replaced ELK with Quickwit for 65TB/day log ingestion (saved $1.2M/year), migrated Lambda pipelines to Vector ($60k/mo down to $8k/mo), and stood up VictoriaMetrics to replace Datadog for 33M metrics ($30k/mo savings). I tend to find the project that saves the most money and then actually build it.
I write Go -- built Kubernetes operators for RabbitMQ, Redis, and Vector (open source: github.com/zcentric/vector-operator). Terraform is my IaC of choice and I've used it everywhere from a global Predix platform (Japan, EU regions) to scaling Kubernetes clusters from 10 to 300 nodes on spot instances for satellite image processing at Urthecast.
I've managed teams at three companies (up to 6 engineers) and served as product owner for SRE groups, but I'm open to both IC and management roles at the Staff/Principal/Director level.
Looking for: DevOps, SRE, Platform Engineering, or Cloud Infrastructure roles. $200K+ total comp. Remote only, US-based.
Location: Prague, Czech Republic (CET)
Remote: Yes; hybrid works too
Willing to relocate: Open to discuss
Technologies: Go, TypeScript/React, Electron, PostgreSQL, Kubernetes (RKE2), GCP, Linux, MCP / agentic tooling
Résumé/CV: on request by email

My rollback time is measured in kilometres.I build self-service kiosks and the POS systems next to them. Real machines, bolted to a shop floor, kicked by customers, unplugged by the cleaner, on whatever internet the landlord is paying for. When a release goes wrong there, nobody types git revert. Somebody gets in a car.
So most of my work is the unglamorous half. Provisioning that takes a device from cardboard box to live fleet with nobody touching a keyboard. OTA updates that can lose power mid-flash and still boot. One codebase that satisfies several certifiers, because the alternative is a fork per market and death by cherry-pick.
The day job for the last few years: ~12 engineers across backend, frontend and QA, most of them hired by me, all of their PRs still read by me. I also built the team's Claude Code setup — CLAUDE.md hierarchies, MCP servers for Jira/GitHub and codebase search, fan-out review with parallel subagents — and got twelve people to actually use it, which was the harder engineering problem.
Looking for: engineering manager, tech lead, or staff-level backend. Remote, EU hours. I'm at my best where software meets physical objects, auditors, or a team that ships but can't tell you when.
Languages: English, Czech. Contractor (B2B) or employee.
Remote: Yes, US time zones
Willing to relocate: No; remote, or onsite in Hillsboro/Beaverton
Technologies: Linux kernel, Rust (Rust-for-Linux), C, C++, device drivers, I2C/SMBus, power-supply, Android/AOSP, SoC bring-up, bootloaders, RT Linux, JTAG, Python

In 2012 I wrote the SMB347 charger driver that is still in mainline Linux (commit ed1a230f, v3.4). This year I ported it to Rust and sent it upstream as an RFC, adding a Rust power_supply class abstraction mainline doesn't have yet. The maintainer replied "having Rust bindings for new drivers sounds good to me" -- direction approved, not merged; v2 in progress.

Before that: Intel (AOSP, tablet bring-up, secure-boot firmware), Cisco (C++ firmware and ASIC HAL generators, Catalyst 4500), ClearEdge Power (embedded Linux for a 5 kW fuel cell), then ten years as a startup CTO. 30+ years total.
Looking for kernel, driver, or embedded work -- full-time or contract.

I'm a senior software engineer with 8 years of experience, primarily focused on backend development, systems architecture, web scraping/reverse engineering, performance optimization, and infrastructure. I work best in small teams where I can operate autonomously and take ownership of difficult problems end-to-end.
I'm the developer of Nitter (https://github.com/zedeus/nitter), an open-source alternative frontend for X/Twitter that I developed and operated for 7 years. At its peak it served millions of users and had a large community around it. I maintained it through major changes to X's infrastructure, including reverse engineering, API usage, caching, performance optimization, anti-bot/WAF systems, and production infrastructure. It was ultimately shut down following legal threats from X.
Outside of Nitter, I've worked on internal logistics systems, APIs and integrations, cloud infrastructure, automation, and various other backend systems. I'm particularly interested in difficult technical problems where I can have substantial ownership, whether that's backend/infrastructure, data acquisition and scraping, developer tooling, or AI-related systems.
I'm anonymous here because of the nature of Nitter and the legal situation surrounding it. I'm happy to verify my identity privately and can provide my CV and additional details by email. Anonymity would not be a requirement after employment.
I'm open to full-time employment or contract work.
